Sailing on Loch Ness.
At last we have a wee bit of sun and as Elizabeth has not been feeling too well over th last few weeks I managed to get her into the car and we went for a short drive along the Southern shore of Loch Ness - No - I did not go in for a swim , just in case someone thought they had spotted Nessie. I have done diving training in the loch and it is so peatie that 40 feet down you cant see your hand in front of your face. On our way home we spoted this yacht and I thought, My Blip. In the background is Urquhart Castle. There has been a castle of sorts on that site since 580AD and over the years has seen many battles and has changed hands countless times When the last soldiers marched out in 1692, they blew it up. The castle soon fell into decay. Part of the Grant Tower crashed to the ground in 1715 during a violent storm. But attitudes changed, and during the 19th century the ancient stronghold came to be viewed as a noble ruin in a majestic setting. It passed into state care in 1913, and is now one of the most visited of all Scotland's castles.
Have a look large.
