Comal

We are in Berkeley tonight staying with friends, after seeing the eye doctor this morning. OilMan has been complaining that he hasn't been able to see as well lately. Perhaps that is because he somehow switched his new glasses almost as soon as he got them last year with ones that are almost ten years old. Since the new ones are still at home in a drawer she couldn't check his vision with them but was pretty sure that's why he hasn't been able to see so well.

Since I have to testify in the child custody trial tomorrow, we are staying tonight with old friends in Berkeley. My picture is the large open kitchen in Comal, a restaurant where modern design meets Mexican food where we all went for dinner tonight. My favorite part, besides the delicious food, is that the whole back wall opens out onto a semi-outdoor seating area overlooking a lush garden right in the middle of downtown Berkeley.

Every time we come back here, we are more shocked at the amount of traffic in town. Today it was particularly awful as they are repaving many roads in our old neighborhood, closing off entire streets without directing the displaced traffic elsewhere. The fact that our eyes were still dilated and squinty and our vision blurred probably didn't help....
