Flower Friday : : Lantana
We have a whole bank of lantana which look like nothing more than dead sticks in the winter but bloom spectacularly in the spring and seem capable of surviving whatever Mother Nature has had to throw at us this summer, and it has certainly been a little bit of everything. Lantana attracts several kinds of butterflies as well. This little group of blossoms was on one branch and I love the clusters of tiny flowers, each a separately arranged little nosegay, as well as the unopened ones in the center.
The wifi was still out when we got home yesterday so a call to AT&T was necessary. After several circuits of the endless loop occasioned by trying to talk to a robot....which seems to be incapable of understanding a word that is being patiently and succinctly spit out between gritted teeth, a human finally came on the line. The instruction was to unplug the modem whereupon everything that wasn't already dead joined the previously deceased. Another round of robot, gritted teeth and pleas for a human finally produced one who also solved the problem.
It would have been really helpful if the first human had explained before it happened that everything, including the phone line, would go dead while the system rebooted.
It seems a bit self indulgent to be wandering around the garden photographing flowers when so many are wandering around the ruins of their homes, but perhaps these flowers, will bring a little cheer to some. I am not a religious person, but my thoughts are for safety for those in the path of the flames, the water and the storms....
Thank you to Biker Bear for continuing to host this pleasant challenge even as she jets around the planet....
