Another attempt
Okay so in fact this was my last attempt from the week, and slightly different to the one that attracted eight or so favourites from Aug 1st. Thanks for that by the way, I enjoyed the compliments and took the advice on board. I want to become a better photographer and I feel the very best way to do that is listen to a lot of different people.
I took this shot late in the evening (around 9.45pm) with ND filters up to about 14 and a long(ish) exposure. I shoot in RAW now but feel the clarity is really lost when porting over to JPEG. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a fact? I've managed to regain some sharpness here but at the expense of heavyish noise - i get it that my aperture was probably too big.
In other news this was from the last day of the holiday. We had a great lazy day reading on the beach (Trick of the Mind by Derrin Brown which has followed Unseen Academicals by the sublime Terry Pratchett) and a visit to Fe's friend John Pender a genuine Scillonian and wonderful character.
Then I wandered off until dark with my tripod and trusty Canon.
