St. Mary's Church
Built in 1842, St. Mary's Church was originally made for the growing number of German Catholics in Over-The-Rhine. In the picture of the front of the church you can see a number of statues such as Joseph & Jesus, Mary, Polish Saint, Jesus, and mother of Virgin Mary. All of the marble looking structures are actually just wood painted to look like marble. The ceiling of the church also has a 3D appearance, however it's just an illusion. It was hand cleaned and hand painted back in the 1840's. The church also has different stain glass windows which depict flower patterns instead of the typical biblical scenes.
Some things from the church that are new since the 1842 opening date are the crosses around the walls, new pues, and an expansion of 68 feet that happened in the 1870's.
