Hebrew Union College Skirball Museum
Opening in 1912, this Jewish museum has become very important in our community. It contains artifacts from places all around the world like London, Germany, and Jerusalem. It also has one of the largest Jewish libraries in the world. Besides the clifton campus, there are Hebrew Union College Skirball Museums in LA, NY, and Jerusalem.
One of the most interesting things I saw at the museum was the Jewish wedding canopy. It has a rainbow, clouds, and stars on it and it's said that if you have an indoor wedding and you hang it above you, you can still have the heavens above you. I liked it because it has a really unique and happy purpose. Another thing I found really cool was the Torah from Natzi, Germany that was kept by family members for years before coming to the museum. Also that whenever there is a bar mitzvah in that family, they borrow that same Torah to read off of during the ceremony.
