The Peel

The open parkland around the palace in Linlithgow, known as The Peel, is one of only two Royal Parks in Scotland, the other being Holyrood Park in Edinburgh.  The slope down to the loch was once occupied by orchards and beehives, now it's a great area for a walk and waterfowl watching.

Plenty of swans, two white geese, mallards, coots, one coot chick and a pair of great crested grebes but they were just too far away to get a decent shot
