Strawberry Fields

2years 292days

A break from the Olympic excitement today. When she got up, she had one of her mammoth play sessions - many friends, all lined up with their own tea set, a time of people being patted to sleep, people being cleaned and changed, people singing. She was in her element.

We spent the day with a good friend of ours. We went first to the library in our old village. She spent ages readng books with Vicki and playing. We then headed to the Pick Your Own strawberry fields. Katie this year could reach the lower ones all on her own. And loved having the polytunnels all to herself to run, whilst she ate strawberries she was picking. We went to the raspberry bushes, which she discovered she really loved. She was eating them about as fast as we put them in the punnet.

Despite the load of fruit, she still ate a fair old plateful when we stopped at Pizza Hut midafternoon for late lunch/early tea, and enjoyed skipping round the otherwise empty restaurant with her balloon. Vicki came round for a cup of tea and a play after, including Katie's first play with the bunnies since we came home. At one point, Burt had climbed on top of the hutch. If I go near him, he tends to bolt. But Katie walked up to him, talked to him "come on Burt, you can do it,you can do it yourself, down you come little burt" and he let her touch and stroke him, before coming down from the hutch. She was really tired, so at 6pm I took her upstairs and we snuggled til she fell asleep.

I have finished the backblips from our trip if you fancy a look
