Legion D'Honneur

My father in law landed in the 2nd wave on D Day at Cannes. He was in the signals and never really has talked much about it over the years .
All the veterans of the D Day landings are being presented with the Legion D'Honneur and  today in Creiff  Dad got his from the French Consul . It was a really nice ceremony held - its just a pity that it hadn't happened a few years previously when he was less demented . Having said that he seemed to really enjoy the occasion and the staff in his care home made a real fuss of him the whole day.
