Always look on the bright side of life
A windy and rainy night turned into a warm and sunny day. We took a drink and sandwich down to Rosemarkie and sat on a bench watching the yachts tackling the wind. An oyster catcher was wandering along the edge of the water picking up bits and pieces as the tide went out.I could see the line of dolphin watchers at the Point.
We drove on to Cromarty hoping to get some extra large eggs that come in blue boxes as I need them the boxes for a project for Brownies. We went to the Lighthouse Open Doors event and had a look inside. I climbed the spiral stone staircase and decided not to climb the vertical ladder and clamber through the small door, do nt think my knees would have bent enough which was annoying as I would have liked to have seen the view. Mike managed it though and took some photos. If you look very carefully at the photo you might see a few people at the top.
We walked down the harbour still in the sunshine. The 'dangerous' WW1 section has now been closed off. One man was fishing and a fisherman was bringing in his catch.
We walked down to the ferry and watched it pull up and take on two cars. We're lucky to have it back even though it's alot smaller than the previous one but it is a handy 'shortcut' for those doing the Lands end to John 'o' Groats trip.
In the evening we went to see Monty Python's 'Spamalot' performed by an Amateur drama club from Inverness. It was a tiny little theatre. What a laugh, it was so funny with lots of fantastic singing and great costumes. Not usually my type of thing but a very enjoyable evening :)
