Japanese Anemone
It's been a slow day - I should have got lots of things prepared for the coming week, but only completed a fraction of my list. Still we have food and clean clothes, so things could be worse!
The garden is gradually shutting down, but some flowers are just coming into their own, such as these Japanese anemones We also started gathering in the apple crop, which is prolific this year. Windfalls were made into apple sauce to accompany slow roast pork with fennel and garlic, followed by roast figs with cinnamon and honey. I must make time to prepare a batch of spiced apple chutney this week!
