Sunday 2016 -- view from the House on the Point
We went back this afternoon to see the "estate sale" house from yesterday. We wanted to see the view in the late day sunlight and take another photo or two.
This is just a tiny portion of the view seen from the house, and this is looking toward the spot where we had stopped yesterday morning to capture a photo of the "House on the Point."
Going there yesterday morning put us in a melancholy mood--walking through someone else's home and looking at all their belongings scattered about on display tables and everything with a price tag written in handwriting--was a little arresting.
I wondered who the inhabitants had been during their lives. Were they professionals? Were they farmers? The property obviously had been much bigger years ago and sometime in the past part of the parcel had been sold. I wondered how long they had owned the place. It doesn't seem like a house that would be conducive to raising kids; it did not have enough bedrooms or bathrooms.
For hours after visiting the house, we were still talking and wondering about the deceased couple who had lived here. Very melancholy.
