Tolpuddle Martyrs

Catching up after a weekend in the West Country.  I called in at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum on the way.  Nowadays it's easy to get impatient with trades unions and forget how vital they were in the early days and how badly working men were treated.  It's astounding how many men and boys were turned into convicts just for trying to keep their families fed.
