Art installation and internal staircase
An unsuccessful attempt at Carl Side this morning. Got to 500 metres but decided not to go on to the summit owing to the deteriorating weather so we returned back through the Forestry Commission site around Dodd.
As the weather looked dodgy we decided to visit Carlisle so that Doreen could get her fix of shops. While Susan helped her mum around the emporia of the city I was free to mooch around and sit and catch up with blips.
I learned from Clickychick that she was part of the C-Art exhibition so looking on their website I discovered two in Carlisle; a sculptor exhibiting in the Cathedral and a series of exhibitors in the Prism Centre. Some real skill in the sculptures but not convinced of the pieces in the Prism though. I was the only visitor and it felt like I was intruding in a private office, dodging the tables and peering into rooms which appeared to have just been vacated by an important meeting.
Today's blip is of one of the exhibits in the Prism; Nature Falls, in the stairwell which, I thought, made an interesting pattern.
Eventually the shopping desires were more or less satisfied so we departed back to Keswick and a meal of chicken pie, mash and veg followed by jelly. And another glass of a rather nice red wine.
