Yurting: Day 2

Last night was great and awful. Tilda slept really well in the tent with her friends M and her parents, even though it was pouring with rain all night. They stayed asleep and dry.
Over in the yurt, Bea was freaked out by her new surroundings and the sound of rain on the roof and was up crying for two hours. She decided at 4am she'd had enough so we brought her into bed with us... Not only that, we didn't realize there were outside flaps as well as inside flaps for the windows, so the rain leaked in and streamed all across the yurt floor. Luckily we were raised off the ground, otherwise it would have been much more than the edges of the blanket that would have been drenched.

But we had a great day despite all that. We did a big walk and found loads of cool mushrooms and other amazing nature things. The girls did a scavenger hunt and we had a picnic lunch. Then we got back to camp and B went down for a nap, so the girls went with the dads for a swim in Silent Lake while the moms chatted and drank Chardonnay.

Campfire was all about marshmallows and peach crumble cooked in the fire. T slept in the tent again, but joined us in the yurt around 2am... I will say that those bunk beds comfortably sleep 2 adults, uncomfortably sleep 2 adults and 1 kindergartner.
