River Seine at Pont de Sèvres
A day of sunshine and showers, the undecided weather dramatising the colours of the trees in the park of Saint-Cloud.
The large building to the left is the Sèvres pottery museum.
Until 1870 there was a royal palace - it was Napoleon's favourite - in the grounds of Saint-Cloud; the palace was inadvertently destroyed by the French army during an artillery battle with the Prussians. Its gardens, with stunning views of Paris to its east, make them well worth a visit. There are even plans to rebuild the palace.
