It's a frame of mind.
I think half of what you enjoy on holiday is down to your frame of mind. As I took a stroll to charlcombe, I thought about what it would be like to see the valley through a stranger's eyes - looking at it for the first time, seeing all the romance of the egg stall, the quaint farm houses and the manor house. All in all, it's actually quite lovely - but when you've lived here for 21 years, it begins to grow dull, and you need someone else to say - "hey, isn't that cool" to see it as anything other than normal.
Holiday blues.
Still, it happens to everyone. I met a girl in Barcelona who lived near the Norwegian fjords, and didn't think that they were anything special.
