Welsh Border
Snuck off to do a few more miles of Offa's Dyke this morning. On this section I actually got to walk on or beside the Dyke for a few miles. Popped in and out of Wales several times, which I only knew from the 'Welcome to Shropshire' signs. No such welcome to Wales. Not my favourite part of the Dyke, especially the road section. At least it was reasonably quiet. I did pass the 'bloodiest battle site' from the English Civil War just before Montgomery. The castle in the town was lost by the Royalists, losing 500 men to Cromwell's 40. The Castle was later destroyed, but it's worth a visit if you're ever in the area, as is Bunners. The best ironmongers in the country; if you need something, they've got it.
