A late, late summer

Summer only got underway about a week ago, and it ended this afternoon as the sea-mist rolled in.
As a result things natural are very late this year. The Field Gentians (main photograph) are only just beginning to flower, a full fortnight later than last year and, at long last, there are a few hover flies (the extra) in the hover.
