September Allotment
As I was on the allotment for the girls and the sun was shining, I decided to take photos of my plot as a record for this year. It's been the best I've achieved over the last few years since I've had more time for it. Things are still growing and flowering, and I hope to get more squashes before the damp, mould and slugs get to them! The raspberries alas are already forming mould, and I have decided to dig them out and plant new ones as Autumn fruiting ones are simply a disaster! I've had such a lovely time the last couple of months just weeding and harvesting, but my thoughts are now turning to preparing beds for next year, which means an awful lot of digging on my half plot which has been covered these last few months, and the covering of my original plot which has just gone wild! Once that is done it will be time to put my productive plot to bed!
Once home I picked up the book which has to be read for bookclub. When I first started it I wondered why on earth I had it, as it really didn't seem the kind of book I would chose to read. I discovered at Friends Tea Party that it was the choice for Bookclub! I hated it! In fact I skim read the last half as I really couldn't be doing with it! I found the premise of the book farfetched, the subject matter poorly dealt with because of that, and the beginning nauseatingly Mills and Boon!!! The book is behind closed Doors by B A Paris, and reading the comments made about it in the press on the back cover I discovered the reviews were from Bella, Best, Women's health Uk and the Sun! That about sums up the literary merit of the book. I shall be interested to hear what the rest of the club say about it and find out who chose it and why!! I just hope they don't ask me about it first off as I may offend the person!
