Roll up, Roll up...
Backblip
Awoke to another lovely day. We were up, organised and down at the Centre by 11am to meet Hannah who was our guide and driver of the six seater golf buggy.
Elaine sat up front with Hannah, D and I sat in the middle and Ed and Alan sat in the back facing outwards meaning they were travelling backwards and had a wonderful view.
Again I wasn’t sure how they would secure Alan to the golf buggy seat and again they had it covered. Some padding, extra straps and a head support and we were off, wheelchair left behind once again.
The first part of the magical mystery tour took us up hill and through forest track. When we got the to the top of a steep incline we had a wonderful view down over the park and could see our chalet in the distance and got a better feel for where we were.
Back down the forest track and then off down a little tiny track that took us past the archery area over a little bridge and down a very narrow, tree lined path to the edge of the water. It was so lovely.
We just got back when some clouds rolled in and there was a light rain shower but it soon stopped. Warm temps though. Felt a bit thundery.
Back to the chalet for lunch then Alan headed off with Ed and Elaine for the afternoon (they ended up in Hexham) and D and I went a drive along Kielder water, ending up on the North side where I took today’s blip.
Back at the chalet and sitting relaxing after dinner when my friend Eileen popped her head in. She arrived earlier today with her husband Michael and son Tony. It didn’t take much to persuade her to have a glass of wine. When Michael appeared half an hour later looking for her it was only fair he had a glass too.
Alan and Tony are going canoeing tomorrow then in the evening we’ve been invited to Eileen and Michael’s super posh chalet for a BBQ. Looking forward to it.
