Painting patterns in the air

Tonight was the first official performance of the Edinburgh International Festivals Olympic inspired art installation The Speed of Light. A number of runners dressed in light suits that change colour throughout the evening are augmented by members of the public carrying torchlit poles to help them along the paths that circle around Arthur's Seat.

With a bit of encouragement I maged to get a few members of the public walking teams to wave the poles around in the air as I took long exposure shots of the now extinct volcano. This is by far the best of the images of the night as the light patterns frame the peak of Arthur's Seat.
