A day trip
Our first Sicilian breakfast was a success - so successful we had to have a second in a different cafe to compare them. On then to a Roman site with some really impressive mosaics before heading to Marzamemi with its tonnara - the tuna processing area - that you can now see is a pretty square packed with restaurants. We managed to eat there - tuna and mackerel between us.
The afternoon was taken up with visiting the nature reserve at Vendicari - more a pretty spot with beautiful ruins on the shore than a nature reserve although Flamingos are always good to see - before heading back to the fleshpots of Ortigia.
A really quiet civilized dinner at a small family run restaurant including amongst other things, a horse burger for me. Probably Tricia's favourite meal in Sicily.
