In her dreams

We headed south towards Montalbano country - part of the original draw to Sicily - and hit the Baroque town of Noto. Stunning buildings as one of the extra photos hopefully shows. 
Also a stop on the Morgan tour of Sicily and the buildings certainly provided a splendid backdrop for a multi-coloured collection of the last truly British cars. We climbed up out of the centre of town and had a superb meal - best in Sicily for me - in a quiet backstreet. A delicate local white wine with a tuna steak in pistachio crust that had hardly been cooked.
On then to Sicily's "grand canyon" which was both difficult to find and disappointing. Ragusa was our final destination and second Airbnb accomodation. The Morgans must have followed us to Ragusa as they we there too! A really interesting room in a converted cellar and with no other visitors we got the upstairs too with an impressive terrace overlooking  the rambling old town.
Into the old town for dinner and disaster struck - our restaurant of choice was full. Instead onto the restaurant featured in several Montalbano episodes - the chef must have changed as it was disappointing and overly touristic.
