Black Squirrel

We read that black squirrels are on the increase in England especially in our region. Well there was one in our garden this morning being chased by our usual grey squirrel. We haven't spotted one before.

They were first spotted in Letchworth, Herts in 1907, possibly an escapee as it is thought they were brought over from America to add to animal collections.

There are lots of myths that black squirrels are more aggressive etc but this are questioned by experts. Our visitor was being given a hard time by our grey residents.
