The jury's out...
JR was off early into town for her jury summons. Two buses were 'delayed' and she panicked and took a taxi, only to find the time (on the calendar) was wrong, she had plenty of time for a coffee. She wasn't needed today, but what a rigmarole! She has just rung tonight to check a recorded message about whether to attend tomorrow or not. It was such a garbled message, at full speed, in broad Scots, that I had to listen to it too, and found it hard to decifer.
A new dog borrower came to meet Archie this morning. He impressed her with all his tricks, and she took him for a walk to the Links, where he played with another dog and came back when he was called. She declared that she loved him when she came back. She has two schnauzers at home in Sweden, and doesn't have to go to uni every day... Perfect.
We popped back out to Dobbie's because the bird bath we got didn't fit. But when we got there, the chap showed us that it did indeed fit - just take out the middle rubber bit. Duh!
We took Archie up the hill on the way back - it was so warm and still. We met lots of dogs even before I left them and went and sat on my bench and did my exercises.
Back home and a fiddle about in the garden adding the luxury bird bath. There was a slight disagreement as to the best spot, but we've compromised and put it bang in the middle of our big window, which of course was the obvious spot all along.
I rushed into the lounge this morning, full of aniticipation as to what little birds I'd see enjoying the new feeder. None. I sat for a fair while this morning with my coffee, waiting. None.
The postman said he'd put a feeder up and it took a couple of months before birds started using it!
'It takes time. Patience.'
Where have I heard those words before?
