I don't give a fig
My small fig bush has been covered in figs this year for the first time, but they have stayed resolutely green and haven't shown any signs of ripening. Being used to those luscious dark coloured Turkish ones that are on sale at this time of year I assumed mine would not be worth eating, but I took this one off today and was really surprised to find it was actually quite nice! A fresher 'greener' taste than the Turkish ones, but not bad. Might be nice roasted with some blue cheese in the middle, wrapped in Parma ham and with a balsamic glaze.
I think is just about qualifies for Tiny Tuesday, hosted by dbifulco this month.
