Well today’s blip is not at all exciting ! A photo of the hospital where my dear friend, Bazil, is still fighting for his life! (2nd floor window behind the trees). Unfortunately, most of my time is being dedicated around him and his wife for the moment, so much so that I don’t even seem to find enough time for my own wife! However, she understands the circumstances completely, being a loving and caring person herself (oh! how I am blessed to have her beside me as my wife!). For any of you who may be interested in the on-going problems with Bazil and his health, he finally confided to his wife the reason why he declined the lifesaving operation that had been prepared for him last week. He said that it was because he was petrified of being alone! How sad! A member of his family and myself have since assured him that if he has the possibility of having this operation one more time, that we will be at his side continually, immediately before and after the operation, so there is no reason for him to feel anxious or afraid, as we will be with him to accompany him throughout this terrible ordeal. The result? He has agreed to go-ahead once more! We are so pleased, especially since the doctor advised us a day or so ago that without this operation, Bazil would suffer a slow and painful death! A new date has now been set for this operation for the 29th September, in the specialised hospital in Paris as before. We are rather disappointed that he has to wait another week or so, but then there are obviously many other poor folk in a similar condition who also need urgent treatment. We are nevertheless very grateful that the doctor has agreed to proceed, after Bazil having refused the previous occasion. So I am making arrangements to be at his side next week, and in the meantime am devoting most of my time to him and his poor wife, who is also suffering considerably. You may remember that I wrote in my last blip that their 61st wedding anniversary was on Saturday, so it is a very special time for them. Unfortunately, due to the amount of hours in a day, I am going to be very irregular with my blips and correspondence for the next few days, so please be patient with me one more time. I will eventually catch up and be more regular. I am sorry to burden you with all this depressing information, but there is not really very much going on in my life at the moment, apart from this! I wish you all a very peaceful day and take care of yourselves.
