Sometimes they don’t
There are things that all of us have done over and over again and we think that they will continue in the same way. But sometimes they don’t.
Every time we have travelled down to Provence over the many, many years that we have done so, whatever detours we might have made, we have always stopped at the same hotel - 'Au Puits Enchanté'. I have blipped it several times. A nice family run business, it was nothing special, except for the friendly welcome and the wonderful food, but to us it was part of what we do . . . now it has become something we did. When we tried to book it this time, we found it had closed. The family have retired and given it up. The end of an era.
So, here we are in Louhans, in the Bresse region, not that far away from 'Au Puits Enchanté', but missing it already.
Louhans is a medieval city and has 157 arches dating from those times. The street of arches is the main shopping street and is very busy, but a delight to walk along.
(I am posting this quickly, as the wifi is very weak - it has now perked up a bit and I have added a link.)
