Godrevy Lighthouse...

Firstly, thank you all for your kind words and good wishes for Alfred.  He seems to be on the mend now, but last night he got worse (started shaking as well as feeling sick), so we took him to the emergency vet at about 10pm.  They checked him over, tested his blood hydration levels, then gave him two painkilling injections.  A quick working one and a slow release 24 hour one.  The vet thinks he ingested some sand on the beach and that it was causing him pain and will be uncomfortable till it comes out.  She said if he was not himself in the morning to go to a day vet, and she gave us a report of his treatment.  They were very helpful and kind there! Well nothing more has come out of Alfred (except the odd pee) since.   Unfortunately this morning he seemed no better so we took him to a local vet as advised, who checked him again and said no food till the morning and gave us a special recovery diet.  He said he also thinks he'll recover soon on his own.  So we're waiting for Alfred to 'do his business' and hoping that will make him feel more comfortable and let him get back to his healthy self!  After the vet we went to Godrevy and spent the afternoon by the sea and in the rock pools.  It was lovely.  We just need Alfred to get completely better, then the holiday can proceed without worry! :-)
