Synchronicity

Earlier in the week My Pal & I were engaged in a highly erudite 'chat' about Drum & Bass, the mid-90s, Jungle, Bukem, Photek, that kinda important stuff... **A CERTAIN TRACK** was referred to which was subsequently added to My Pal's **MONTHLY THING**, and later to his **DAILY THING**. Anyway, here's the nub of the matter - at **EXACTLY THAT MOMENT** (18.41 Tuesday) Tom 'Rave Dog' Ravenscroft (aka The Muthafukka) played **THE CERTAIN TRACK** on 6Records. The track in question? Source Direct's 'Approach & Identify' of course (see 'Extras'). The moon was full, the planets aligned, shooting stars filled the evening sky, our lives were finally validated...

Picture is of my old '92-vintage Sony TA-F411R amplifier - an absolute stalwart for many years, though now sadly defunt after it popped a cap a couple of years back (that's a capacitor burning out, rather than the 'popped a cap on yo ass' kind of popped a cap...) Anyway, aside from the obvious musical reference in the pic, I think **THE LITTLE GREEN LIGHT** will have certain resonance with My Pal if he casts his mind back to 25/12/1995. The 'R' in the TA-F411R obviously refers to the 'remote' capacity of the TA-F411R. I have such a distinct memory of My Pal shrieking like a deranged banshee at the sight of **THE LITTLE GREEN LIGHT** turning of its own accord as I used The Remote to turn the volume up. And no doubt we were listening to Source Direct 'Approach & Identify', and no doubt the Source Direct button was pressed to bypass the bass & treble controls so we could appreciate the track as "the precisely-programmed daisy that it is"...
