Here you can see Hubby having a hard earned break from digging a trench in our yard.  It is very hard work as he has to drill through a lot of stone. He will need to replace the water pipe that runs from the street to the cellar as it is very old and will eventually clog up. The pipe has to be 110cm underground to insulate it from the freezing winter temperatures which is why the trench is so deep. While he is at it he will run a couple of conduits through, one for the fibre optic cable which should be available in our area in the next couple of years. That way he only has to dig it up once! His drills wouldn't get through some of the rock so he had to borrow a friend's compressor drill. It took a few seconds to break up one area with it compared to 20 minutes with his. It is still hard work and he is not as young as he used to be. Next weekend a friend is coming over to help which should make things easier.
