Großgerungs

We wanted to take the little steam train to Großgerungs today but we found out it was the diesel running today. Oops, I read the timetable wrongly but we decided to go anyway. It was a pretty trip that took 2 hours each way. Austrians are civilised in that they have a refreshment carriage even in a small tourist train serving snacks and drinks. Our visitors drank Sturm (or storm) for the first time which is made late September/October from the first fermentation of the new wine. It is cloudy, slightly sweet and fizzy and way too easy to drink.
We had lunch in the town before taking the train back. As you can see it was a little misty in the hills but we had sunny breaks - very welcome after a week of miserable weather.
