Lake Effect
Idling towards Brampton this afternoon, Jools and I were musing about how soon it'd be before Southern Ontario became the world's newest desert. Then the sky turned black and the driest summer on record took a 180 degree lurch as torrents of rain tumbled down, turning the road into a raging lake of swirling, dirty water.
We're expecting more of the same this weekend, which should keep the farmers amused, although it probably won't bring broad smiles to the organisers of some of the summer's biggest outdoor festivals planned for Toronto.
Ah, well, beats 6ft of snow . . .
