Get down and gimme ten! Now!
David Cerny's fab moving 'sculpture' (complete effort sound effects) outside Czech House in Angel. It was another early-ish rise wander type morning, with a tube ride to London Bridge, and a walk down Tooley Street and the environs, before heading to the Borough Market for breakfast and then... Walking.... Lots of walking.
I had almost a couple of hours to kill before our fellowship was to meet at a bar in St Pancras before catching our King's Cross train back northwards. And rather than stuff myself into the tube, or spend more time indoors than was strictly necessary ona sunny day, I sauntered. Past the Shard (seemed smaller than expected); and the Gherkin (which never fails to make me smile); through Leadenhall Market where the Olympic marathon passes; out to London's other Lomography store (after getting an email that there was 30% off the 'Spinner'); and then random 'Roach-infested streets to Angel.
About 5 miles or so under my feet in the heat, carrying a heavy rucksack, I deferred to the Tube to take me to St Pancras and, once more, had a smooth train journey to deposit me back home whereupon I learned: you can see the Arthur's Seat lightshow (just) from our bedroom window (and there are still tickets available to take part); the Tattoo flypast has been reduced from two Tornados and two Typhoons to one Typhoon after some people (not sure of the plural there) in Portobello complained (spoilsports, they virtually go over our house for this every year and I really like seeing them); and sadly there are no tickets left for a performance in the Fringe of Macbeth on Inchcolm Island (boo!).
