Chickens!

I stayed with a friend in Murchison last night and was cheeped to sleep by this wee girl and her brothers and sisters.

A's chook abandoned 6 eggs two days before they were due to hatch, so A spent the next 2 days doing two hourly hot water bottle changes to keep the eggs alive.  

Five of the six hatched.  But the hottie changes didn't stop then.  The hatched babies then needed to continue their hottie changes for the next few days.

Two weeks later, they're doing incredibly well living in a box in the living room under a heat lamp.
