On arrival...

One thing I have discovered in a lot of travel is that after a week or so of Chinese cuisine (or Malaysian for that matter) you have to break out. The food in Borneo was excellent, full of variety and taste. Nevertheless one mainland Chinese colleague who is not all that keen on Chinese food went off to get a McDonalds!! I couldn't quite do that, but flying into Singapore this lunchtime I felt the call of a Napolitan pizza.

Julie, the waitress, is a Singaporean. A breed apart in many ways. You can make out the bridge in the background. It's called Robertson Bridge - a reminder I suspect (like Jardine, Mathieson, etc) that South East Asia was full of entrepreneur Scots busy building the empire.
