Emilienne at sa famille
Roads were quiet and there were no delays at the ferry. We had’t had much sleep but this being the first day of our holiday we were ready to party when we reached Vicq. Friends and food awaited and before long we had been fed and watered. This being France, that meant variied salads, interesting cuts of meat, a selection of (French) cheeses, stylish and colourful deserts and all washed down with various coloured fermented grape juices, some with bubbles.
Subsequent activity was necessarily limited, so we chatted and exchanged news of families and mutual friends before taking an early night. The majority of the dishes would have to wait till tomorrow.
