No bees

Rose early and took Pippa on to Chobham Common in search of a blip. There was a nice hazy light with dew on the ground and cobwebs etc. And that should have been enough. But back home there was an itch to try one more thing with the bokeh (a bit of a theme here this week) so picked some sweet peas. I was happy with the image (above) and then a bee buzzed by - nearly, but not quite sharp enough.

But that was it; a new challenge, a new obsession - bee, bloom and bokeh in a single image. Increased the depth of field (at the risk of loosing the bokeh) and waited, and waited, and waited. No bees. Put a bit of honey on the back of the sweet peas and sprayed them with potpourri scent to create bee heaven. No bees. Cloud blotted out bokeh. Sun came out again so went round front - loads of bees on the lavender. Cut some lavender - lavender and bokeh. No bees. So that's today's blip: no bees.
