The Gold of Spring

This time of the year the Kowhai trees burst into flower. I love seeing the splashes of bright yellow amongst the trees when I am out and about. I found a lovely example of these flowers this morning. I was out with our Council candidate, Priscilla, and her two younger daughters walking the streets and distributing her fliers. It was fun seeing other folk's gardens at this time of the year. We see so much more when we walk rather than drive.
