Meisie
This is Meisie our old neighbour's new puppy! She is standing in front of her Mommy's boots and we actually got her to keep still for a minute!
Before we moved to The Magic Kingdom we lived next door to K. Her house was back to back with ours.
About 2 years after we moved to this house we bought a Border Collie puppy called Milo. Milo was the most amazing dog we have ever owned! Not only was he beautiful but he also had a very special nature. Soon after we got Milo, K bought a Boxer puppy, Serena. Milo and Serena soon became the best of friends. We lived in a gated community which had a communal park. The two dogs would take any opportunity to meet there to play. They would go to each other's gates and call eachother. If we went out Milo would go over to Serena and ask to be let in. He especially loved to lie under K's kitchen table on Saturday afternoons when she would be cooking. Likewise when K was working Serena would come into our home.
The two were constant companions to each other and seemed to belong to both houses and families. Sadly Milo got cancer in 2008 and even after Chemo treatments we were not able to save him and had to put him down in March 2009. We were all devestated at this loss of a unique dog loved by all who met him! Serena was lost without him and then soon after this we also moved away.
Last year Serena lost her battle with hip displaysia and K was so devestated with this second loss that she left her home for 3 months to deal with the grief. She promised herself that she would not go through the loss of another pet and decided not to get a new dog. But ..... as you can see, she couldn't go on with such a huge void in her life and she now has Meisie!
I am so glad she did get a puppy because I can see that she has found the joy in her life again. K was never able to have children and her dogs were her children. She is the best Mommy they could ever have had and Meisie is a very lucky dog! We have not seen K in a while and she was so surprised to see how our children have grown. She has known them since daughter T was two, son K was one and before son S was even born. She is an extra grandparent to them!
Little Meisie has the makings of a lovely dog and was so friendly and lively, I am sure K is going to get a lot of pleasure out of her new "baby".
