Innovation in a remote rural location

28th September 2016:

This is Harisen Amin who is the lead on this project: The Zoe Irrigation pump developed in the fast few years and brought to the market at the Northern Region Agricultural Fair in Mzuzu last month.
The pump is a distant cousin of our water pump but instead of pumping water into buckets it can take water from 20 or 25 metres deep and drive it into a tank at least 10 meters above ground level in one action.
Of course it can pump water over a distance through a hosepipe or drive a sprinkler.
It won't have the same impact as the water pump, but will enable families to grow more food in the dry season, which in itself is a what we believe Malawi needs: APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY.

Hi Boss,
IT's another good day to day. We had another visit to an area called Enyezini, about 30 kms from factory.
We went there for three reasons ;firstly ,how W4Z can help the girl child (FLORENCE) secondly about the irrigation pump (HARRISEN) and thirdly about the Zoe Pump (Myself).
The gathering was very excited to hear what we are doing (W4Z). People came there in very large numbers, almost 1000 men and women attended the meeting. As usual, people say many thanks to W4Z for taking the less priveledged people into there heart.
Early Wednesday morning, we went to Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation (MBC) about the big ceremony in Bolero (Rumphi). They have promised that they will cover the whole programme and they will accompany some journalist from Nyasa Times. To spice up the occasion, boss I was requesting for golf shirts written (W4Z, Pump Team) at the back of our shirts). These golf shirts will be for the W4Z staff who will take part in the launch. The date for the launch has been shifted to next went. This is so because, on Saturday there will be a big ceremony for the Tumbuka people where chief Chikulamayembe is their King. The chief is the one who requested us to change the date so that he should not miss the launch. He has also promised to come with many of his people. It will be a great day for everyone.
