Fiery Sky!
I took my camera with me today and took many photos of windsurfers, the Columbia River, the synclines and monoclines of the gorge cliffs. Yet this evening's sunset was so spectacular I had to go with the sunset!
I have posted a couple of extra photos.
One extra is of windsurfers and kite boarders in the Columbia River. The photo is taken from the Hood River, OR side, with the houses that line the cliffs of White Salmon, WA as a backdrop.
The other extra is taken from the Chamberlain Lake Rest Area of the Columbia River looking east. On the right side of the photo, the Rowena Crest viewpoint juts into the river.
Yesterday a man from Portland visited the area to take photos. An ex-marine, he happened to look down and recognize that he was looking at an unexploded pipe bomb. He contacted law enforcement and the Oregon State Police came and detonated the bomb.
Even at those places where we think we can relax, it appears we need to be aware of our surroundings.
