KESR Railway Experience Day
A second day of the KESR today and my third, and final turn, as a trainee co-ordinator managing the event on behalf of the visitors and the railway. Today we were running Charwelton with the Vintage Set of coaches.
An excellent day that everyone, including railway staff, seemed to thoroughly enjoy. Bright, warm sunshine for most of the day meant some wonderful views from the line especially of Bodiam Castle and the Rother Valley but also made photography difficult owing to the great contrasts between bright light and dark shade.
Everyone had a turn on the footplate and as guard and were also shown around the workshops and were able to look around the yard. Bacon rolls, tea, coffee and a good groups that gelled well together made for a very good day indeed.
Today's extra is from Rolvenden awaiting the departure of the morning RXD to Bodiam.
