Celebration

Woke up around 2am and then managed to get back to sleep till around 3.30 before giving up fighting the jetlag. Had an overdose on the Great British Bake Off to catch up on the three weeks we were away. Went back to bed for a few hours before Kilda came in to wake me up when J’s parents got up. Watched qualifying before going to see dad in hospital. He seemed well but a bit confused with all the drugs he is still on. They only had to do a repair on the heart valve instead of a replacement. As a result he is already awake and they have started to remove some of the drips and drains. They think he will be back on the ward by Monday if he keeps improving the way he is at the moment. Came back and met mum and J’s parents along with the rest of the family and a few of their friend to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a meal in the local pub. It was while we were on holiday and as we are leaving early in the morning today was the best day. Took Kilda for a walk with the nieces before settling down to watch strictly for the first time this year. Hoping for a better nights sleep tonight.
