Working Horses Day

I have spent a wonderful day at the British Horse Society Scotland Working Horses Day held this year only a few miles from my home and with the sun shining it was hard to believe it was October 1st and it certainly brought out the crowds.

The topic was "Cereal from Seed to Harvest" with demonstrations of ploughing , harrowing , sowing etc and culminating in this wonderful old horse drawn binder being pulled by 3 horses.

There were horse shoeing demonstrations and a show Clydesdale was being put through its paces and the finer points were explained by a judge - one of the extras shows some children being encouraged to feel how fine and soft its feather was.
