Everyday I Write The Book

Collared, banged up and drugged

Poor Dylan. You'd think he was a criminal rather than a patient. But the good news is, three weeks to the day since the vet rang us in America to say that he'd been found injured in the road, he's home.

Now there is four weeks cage rest, two weeks yet before the collar can come off, a few days of medication, and the small matter of the psychological rehabilitation ... This is also an issue for Scout who is behaving a bit oddly at having his brother home and clearly is also a little traumatised...

I had a good day at work today, partly because the pressure from last week is off, partly because there was a nice atmosphere in the office and partly because my inner geek was enjoying playing with our new admin system for managing meetings. Poor TSM got the more difficult job of driving to Potters Bar again to collect Dyls, and was tired tonight. But we had chilli cheese veggie dogs for supper and rosemary chips so at least there was some comfort food.

LOOKING BACK

Five years ago today I was dealing with vets, chemical fires and the BBC ... life never really gets any easier in the sense that there is always something going on; but life is good. As I said then, my troubles aren't really that big in the great scheme of things ...
