Another Day Another Dollar
Lovely sunrise; it caught the condensation patters on our bedroom skylight so my blip was early in the day for once.
The workday just vanished, a lot of it being spent organising next week’s big meeting. No more gas leaks, but a bit of follow up on the incident. We weren’t really prepared but we were pretty on the ball.
Sad news this afternoon when I received a message from E. in Spain telling me that BBC news had reported the death of an old family friend at the age of 72. A larger than life figure who worked with my father, he received a lot of tributes in the media including a lengthy one from Jeremy Corbyn. I remembered some very drunken escapades in the late ‘seventies but he was a good man who quietly gave a lot of money to charity and never sought anything other than the chance to stand up for what he thought was right.
The Dizzle came to the office this afternoon, he was in a local meeting. Nice to see him at work again, he hot desked for a while then drove me home.
Bad attack of fatigue this afternoon, very glad to be working at home tomorrow. I did engage in a bit of hard labour tonight. I am experimenting with the best way of taking palettes apart, which is not as easy as it sounds. They are made for strength and don’t give up their structure easily, but I think I have found a way of ripping them up without destroying the timbers, which I am using in my garage project.
Think I might retrain. There must be a course out there on palette ripping ...
