WOT, no Saffron?

Some years ago I put some real Autumn crocuses in
(As opposed to Colchicums). More recently added some Saffron Croci/Croces(?).
The former survived but seem slow to propagate, the latter, so far as I recall, vanished without trace - sunk with all hands.

We popped into Barton Grange Garden centre, en route back from Cheshire, for a bit to eat. I can't visit there without paying homage to their Orchids. I was particularly admiring a rather gently coloured one and refused on grounds that we have (for the moment at least) a sufficiency.
Arrived home to find we actually already had it - behold.
