Another dawn ...
This was taken at about 6.50am, and it was another hour or more before the sun actually rose above the hills across the water. I reckon it looks a chillier dawn than the one that woke me in Provence on Saturday - certainly the double-glazed windows had little lines of mist along the bottom frame, suggesting chilliness somewhere.
Suddenly the days are growing shorter - you wouldn't think that a week after the equinox I'd actually be noticing this, but having been away for that week I'm definitely seeing - and feeling - the difference. Any time now we'll be having tea-time darkness and winter duvets and that'll be us in the gloom for another year.
Just realised there was an echo of a Leonard Cohen song in the first sentence of that paragraph. Alexandra Leaving, anyone?
